Sense of Place – New feature in the Press Democrat Newspaper

Exciting news! Starting today (Sunday June 18, 2012)  and continuing every other Sunday, my sketches along with a brief story, will be featured in the Towns section of Sonoma County’s Newspaper, The Press Democrat. Alternating weeks will feature stories by Arthur Dawson. The column will be published online and in the print edition each week.

The online edition contains my full text. Here is the link for the Press Democrat Newspaper (online).

  1. Kuddos! They couldn’t have chosen a better artist. I just hope that you will still have time in the future to teach…… : )

  2. That is wonderful news, Richard! I bet it will soon become everyone’s favorite feature of the paper!

  3. Wonderful news, I’m not surprised at all that they liked your fabulous sketches!

  4. Congrats. What a great way to share your lovely art work. The newspaper is very smart to have selected you. Good luck! I agree with Cathy, in your spare time (ha), you should teach (online, I hope), or even maybe a water color journaling workshop on site somewhere. 🙂

  5. Thanks Kay! I’m excited about publishing in the newspaper and contributing to the community too.
Someday I’d like to teach a workshop or a class but I’m not sure when that will be. I don’t feel quite ready for that. I have lots of learning and planning to do first!

  6. Thanks very much Claire! I’m excited to be apart of this unique opportunity.

  7. Thank you Elizabeth! Now this gives me an excuse to roam around the area sketching what ever looks interesting. It’s going to be a blast!
