I don’t often paint commissions but when I was asked to paint the Crawford family’s former house in Windsor, I couldn’t resist it’s charm.

Boy are they lucky. What a great memento for the family! I love the red barn, what colors did you use?
Thanks Cathy! I used all the colors in my palette for this painting ( http://www.theartistontheroad.com/?p=3023 ). For the barn it’s self, I layered several colors, Permanent Magenta, Permanent Rose, Windsor Orange, Windsor Violet, Vandyke Brown, and Sepia.
Beautifully done. I always love your use of color.
Thank you Cheryl! About 4 years ago I filled up my kit palette with colors and it’s changed very little over the years.
I am hoping your new book will be out before too long? I’m looking forward to it! Thanks for the info on the barn. Your use of color and the way you pull it all together is truly a gift!
Thank you Cathy! I appreciate your interest. I’d like nothing more than to be working on my wine book right now but I have another job I’ve been working on for the last few weeks — six theater posters for our local theater, The Raven. It’s a great job too and I love working on the posters, so I can’t complain. I hope to have my book done in September. Fingers crossed for luck!
Yes, we love the painting and feel very fortunate that Richard agreed to paint it for us. Donna and Bob
Thank you Donna and Bob, I glad to hear you love the painting!
